ElectriCities’ CEO Receives National Public Power Award

July 20, 2010

T. Graham Edwards, Chief Executive Officer of ElectriCities, received the American Public Power Association’s (APPA) James D. Donovan Individual Achievement Award at the association’s national conference in Orlando, Fla. The award recognized Edwards’ many contributions and leadership to the electric industry.

Edwards joined ElectriCities as CEO in 2009 from Midwest Independent Transmission Operator (MISO). He served as CEO from 2006 to 2009; served on the board of directors from 2001 to 2009; and was chairman of the board in 2005. Prior to his service with the Midwest ISO, Edwards was president and CEO of Santee Cooper, the state power agency in South Carolina. During his 25 years at Santee Cooper, Edwards helped position the utility for competition and helped start The Energy Authority, a wholesale energy and marketing company.

The award honors James D. Donovan, one of the founders of APPA and its first president. It was initiated in 1959 and recognizes individuals who have made great contributions to the electric utility industry and to public power.  Edwards and Ronald E. Davis of Burbank (Calif.) Water and Power were this year’s winners.
