NC’s Public Power Communities – No Outages During Winter Weather

Raleigh, NC, February 2, 2007 – North Carolina public power communities experienced no outages Thursday, Feb. 1 during the state’s winter storm. Our communities monitor weather forecasts and prepare for prompt restoration of interrupted electric service. Should a community experience an outage, public power communities work together to restore power as quickly as possible using the Emergency Assistance Program. Cities that are not affected by the weather travel and assist those that are affected by the weather conditions.
