2008 Short Session Approaches
The second half of the 2007 Biennium Session (2008 Short Session) is really close. Legislators will return to their posts at the NC General Assembly in Raleigh on May 13 to convene the short session. We understand the short session will be focused on the budget, the mental health reform bill from 2001, transportation issues, and the drought. If past short session action holds true, legislators are less likely to deal with any controversial issues since the November general election is around the corner.
