2007 Public Power Awards of Excellence

Last year at the ElectriCities Annual Meeting, Public Power Awards of Excellence were presented to 16 public power cities and towns. More than 60 awards were presented, providing winning municipalities an opportunity for recognition in their community. Press releases are prepared for each winner, enabling winning cities to be recognized for their high level of professionalism and service in their communities.

I am pleased to present you with the 2007 Public Power Awards of Excellence nomination packet. All public power community members of ElectriCities in North Carolina are eligible to participate.

Several award categories are available and the nomination form is easy to complete. The number of awards given in most award categories is not limited and several cities should win in each category. If your city meets the criteria described under each award, I encourage you to complete the short nomination form to recognize your employees for the excellent work they do on behalf of your community.

The deadline for receipt of nomination forms is June 8, 2007. The awards will be presented at the 2007 Annual Meeting, August 10 and 11 at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville. Winning cities will be notified prior to the Annual Meeting.
