What does ElectriCities have to offer?
ElectriCities is a not-for-profit government services organization
that consolidates many of the administrative, technical, legal and
legislative services needed by municipally-owned electric utilities.
ElectriCities' Member Services department helps member cities capture
the economies of scale and scope by working together in groups and/or
regions. Our staff provides centralized contract services to the
member cities to increase the life and operating efficiencies of
their electric distribution systems.
The Emergency Assistance Program was established in 1986 as a way
to help the state's 74 municipal electric systems restore power
quickly. The program works by dispatching crews from cities that
have not been impacted by the storm or have already restored most
of their outages to cities that need extra help.
Our economic developers along with our municipal personnel will
provide a range of services designed to facilitate new and expanding
industry development.
Our members participate in federal and state legislative programs
that ensure advocacy for issues important to public power.
The ElectriCities Library maintains a vast array of resources that
are available for use by its members either on-site or on loan for
a two-week period.
Marketing Support offers a broad array of services and assistance
to member cities, their residential customers, and their current
and potential industrial customers.
The Safety and Training Department offers many quality opportunities
for Public Power employees to obtain career development and proficiency
training for powerline workers, meter technicians, substation technicians,
and soon will offer one for underground technicians.
ElectriCities Strategic Communications staff is available to assist
members with a variety of communications services, including advertising,
graphic design services, general communications, bill inserts and
other customer communications and media relations counsel.
