ElectriCities is committed to offering educational development programs that help individuals enhance their professional or technical skills to better serve their Public Power utility and its customers. Educational programs include instructor-led workshops, seminars, schools and other events which last from one half day to a full week.

Topics include safety, marketing, professional customer service skills and other municipal issues. Depending upon their nature and scope, training events are usually held at locations in member cities or at the ElectriCities training center in Raleigh, and include both classroom and hands-on training.

ElectriCities' Safety and Training Department offers several comprehensive Career Development Programs for Powerline Workers, Meter Technicians, Substation Technicians, and Underground Technicians.

Our classes qualify for Professional Engineer (PE) development credits. If you download the credits form (PDF, MS Word) we will be glad to send your continuing education hours to the state board.

The ElectriCities Library maintains a vast array of video resources that are available for use by its members either on-site or on loan for a two-week period. For a listing of resources available, visit the Library page in the Members section of our web site, or contact Robby Humphreys at 800-768-7697, ext. 6102. Additional video training resources are available through the Safety and Training Department and Marketing.
