Learn where environmental assessment and clean up funding are available and how applying for that funding can make your community much more attractive to developers. Nationally, $75 million or more are provided in grants to local governments annually. Brownfields grants of $200,000 or more for individual local governments are available from the U.S. EPA. See how a fraction of that money could actually leverage millions in private redevelopment investment.

TBD
North Carolina ONLY
1 day course: The seminar will provide attendees with insight into the electric service rights of power suppliers in North Carolina under the 1965 Territorial Assignment Law. Participants will learn about basic legal definitions of service rights, specific day-to-day interpretations of the law and about court rulings, and an update on recent court rulings within the municipalities. Attendees will receive a guidebook for use in interpreting the law locally. The purpose of the course is to assist city personnel in determining whether they are authorized to provide electric service to potential customers and to exclude service to other service providers.
