Founded in 1796 on a 26-acre site in Cabarrus County just east of Charlotte, Concord soon became a booming regional textile and banking center and is now a major distribution and manufacturing hub. It’s home to NASCAR’s Charlotte Motor Speedway, Concord Mills shopping complex, and a great place for live music, theater and art, dining and entertainment. As the name implies (“harmony”), you won’t have much trouble finding something fun and interesting to do here that everyone will agree on.
