Team Bios: Ed Roberts

Creative Director

Ed Roberts is a native North Carolinian and proud NC Public Power resident. He graduated with a bachelor of environmental design in graphic design from the College of Design at North Carolina State University.

Ed's career started as an assistant art director at American Scientist magazine, designing information graphics for some of the world's leading scientists. In 2000, he began working as an art director in the high-tech business-to-business advertising industry. His clients included Wieland Electric, CREE, Tyco/Scott Health & Safety, Celanese and Teijin Aramid.

After working in the advertising and government sectors developing identity systems, promotional advertising, environmental graphics, websites, packaging and publication design, Ed joined ElectriCities in 2009.

He believes successful projects have the following characteristics: solid strategy, good concept, practical use of technology and high-quality production values. Since arriving at ElectriCities, he has led the design of Hometown Connection, Developments, Public Power Week campaign, ElectriCities Value website, TempTracker365, Currents and the NC Public Power video series.

Ed is a member of the AIGA and AAF and his work has been awarded by both organizations. His design work has also been featured in Print and Diagram Graphics: The Best in Graphs, Charts, Maps and Technical Illustration.
