Job Summary
This position is responsible for performing advanced journey level technical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical lines. This work is differentiated from the lower levels of line work by the variety of more difficult secondary and hot primary high voltage line work and by providing leadership to a crew of workers in assigning and inspecting work, compliance with safety rules and regulations and training other line workers. The employee is expected to have a thorough understanding of standardized techniques and practices used during power line construction, maintenance, and repair; both overhead and underground experience is valued. Graduation from high school supplemented by training in electrical principles and considerable, progressive experience as an electric line technician. The applicant must possess a NC commercial driver’s license.
Pay range: $66,699 – $ 100,048.
Standard work week is 40 hours plus. Position typically is on “stand by” every five weeks and receives an additional 10 hours’ pay for those weeks plus comp time or overtime for hours actually worked (min 2 hrs. per call). Primary Responsibilities

- Possess considerable, progressive experience as an electric line technician.
- Possess a valid North Carolina commercial driver’s license.
