Latest Tropical Storm Isaias update

read

When Tropical Storm Isaias left North Carolina, 30,000 NC Public Power customers were without power. As soon as conditions were safe, crews from across North Carolina quickly responded to address those outages in our eastern communities. And in just 18 hours, all but 2,500 customers had their power restored. Now that power has been restored to remaining customers, we want to thank all those lineworkers who put their lives on the line to help restore power quickly and safely — not just in times of severe weather — but every day. And we also thank the customers of public power for their patience and support as crews work to keep the lights on.

NC Emergency Management reminds residents to secure property in advance of the storm and to avoid flooded and washed-out roads following the storm. DriveNC.gov is a valuable resource for checking driving conditions.

In addition, the ReadyNC mobile app should be downloaded for up-to-date information on preparedness, evacuations, shelters and more.
