Value of Public Power Radio Ad Contest

Tap the power of radio in your community without touching your budget. Enter our radio ad contest!

What it is: Value of Public Power Radio Ad Contest

Who’s eligible: Public power utilities in North Carolina

How to enter: Send us your best 30-second radio ad script that addresses a topic important to your utility and to your customers.

When it’s due: May 1

More info: We’ll select two winning ad scripts. We’ll work with our radio partner to professionally record the two winning ads. Then, we’ll air the winning members’ ads in their communities from June 10 through July 7—all at no cost to you!

Your script should be fun, localized, and brief. A typical 30-second radio ad is only 75-85 words. We’ll consider only one script entry per member, so send us your best!

To help you get started, here are some theme ideas from the ElectriCities Communications team:

  • The value of your public power utility in your community.
  • How public power is focused on delivering reliable, affordable, and sustainable service today, tomorrow, and for years to come.
  • Public power’s (or your utility’s) reliability. Distilling your community’s reliability into a time range can be impactful. For example: “On average, our customers are without power for less than an hour all year.”
  • Public power employees live, work, and play in the communities we serve. We are your neighbors.
  • Public power lineworkers are working safely through severe weather and other unique challenges to maintain vital services.
  • Summer energy saving tips.
