Designed for Power Agency members, the Public Power Promotional Program—or P4—provides funds that can be used to promote public power utilities in their communities. P4 is an annual reimbursement program that restarts annually on Jan. 1. The amount a Power Agency member is eligible for each year depends on the number of customers that utility serves:
•Fewer than 5,000 customers = $1,500
•5,000 to 10,000 customers = $2,000
•More than 10,000 customers = $2,500
*P4 is a reimbursement program. ElectriCities requires documentation in the form of paid invoices or receipts to reimburse (see form below).
*Projects are only eligible for reimbursement if they clearly demonstrate the value of public power and/or the local utility (see “Project Description” in form below).
Looking for ideas? Here are some ways communities could use their P4 funds:
- Community education events where the electric utility is featured or the overall value of being a public power community is highlighted.
- Public Power Week (1st full week of October) supplies (banners, t-shirts, etc.).
- Sponsorship of a local festival or youth sports team where the electric utility name and logo is featured.
- Production costs related to an energy-savings campaign (video, print, social media, radio).
