  • Electric Systems Manager

    We are looking for an Electric Systems Manager based in the northern Mecklenburg County, NC area.  This individual will manage/oversee our municipal electric operations, to include the areas of administration, finance, engineering, and construction. We seek an innovative, self-starter who has the ability to lead both office and field personnel toward process, technology, and efficiency improvements, and promote a positive community image.

     

    Qualified candidates will possess the following: 

    • A Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Business/Financial Management, or equivalent technical and previous experience in the management of distribution operations.
    • 3-7 years of progressively responsible management experience.
    • Thorough knowledge of electric utility management including, but not limited to, fiscal management, engineering and operations, rate-setting, billing and collections, line construction and maintenance, development of business practice policies and procedures, computer hardware and software for utility applications, marketing, and customer service.
    • Excellent relationship management skills, oral/written communication skills, and team-building and customer service ability.

  • Corporate Electronic Records Management Specialist

    The Corporate Electronic Records Management Specialist is an integral part of the Records & Information Management team at ElectriCities. The ideal candidate should be detailed-oriented, responsive to customer/end-user needs, able to work independently and in a team setting, organized, flexible, and analytical.

    Major Responsibilities

    • Assist in management and upgrading of Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) databases
    • Working knowledge and experience in Documentum
    • Assist in management and upgrading of Library Database
    • Maintain and update ElectriCities’ Corporate Records Retention Program
    • Assist in implementing Digital Micrographics Program
    • Perform files assessment and reference duties
    • Stay informed of developments impacting Records, Public Power, and the Energy Industry
    • Train users on various programs

    Qualifications/Requirements

    The employee should possess a Master of Library Science degree from an ALA-accredited program, with specialized course work in Records Management, archival processing, government documents, database management and a working knowledge of the electric industry, OR equivalent experience consisting of a minimum of five years’ experience in a corporate, government, academic, or public library setting. Archival Administration and Government Documents experience is preferred. In addition, experience with regulatory documents, filings, and procedural manuals is a plus for this position. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and most current office applications is required.

  • Corporate Training and Development Administrator

    We are looking for a team player in our Programs & Services Department to fill a new position as the Corporate Training and Development Administrator.

    The main areas of responsibility will be to oversee the development of programs that provide training and development opportunities for ElectriCities staff. This person will work closely with HR and management staff to determine the needs of the organization and implement and maintain the processes necessary to enhance and monitor staff development programs. Perform a variety of tasks involved in implementing training programs, and promoting a culture of excellence within ElectriCities. The incumbent must have the ability to provide project management for each training program. This would include recommending the most appropriate training format, working with subject matter experts to provide training programs, management of programs, communications with staff and monitoring staff development.

    Qualifications

    A Bachelor’s Degree or two years of related utility, training, or business experience is required. A balance of program management, training administration and business skills is preferred and the incumbent must have a familiarity with personal computers and relational databases. Must be able to work within a team environment, be self-motivated, and be able to work with minimum supervision. This position requires strong written and verbal communication skill and the ability to work outside of normal business hours; including some overnight travel.

  • Retail Development Specialist

    ElectriCities of North Carolina is looking for a Retail Development Specialist to join our Economic Development team. Primary responsibilities include assisting with strategic decision-making for retail and commercial site selection and targeted marketing for our member cities located throughout North Carolina. Experience in developing key strategic partnerships and account-specific strategies using demographic and site analyses provided by ESRI software is preferred.

    The ideal candidate will have at least a BA or BS degree, preferably in business, retail development, marketing, or economics. Three to five years of related business research experience and the ability to work with relational databases is required. You will be expected to travel approximately 70% of the time.   • Senior Programmer Analyst - SAS

    We are looking for a team player in our IT Department to fill the position of Senior Programmer Analyst. The position will be responsible for a variety of duties within the application systems area. Perform detailed programming tasks, develop new software and maintain, enhance and correct existing software and documentation for all SAS-based applications and our accounting software package.

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Business Administration required with a minimum of five to seven years of programming experience in a business environment is required. Familiarity with systems development methodology, Linux, SAS, SAS/AF, Crystal Reports; databases - SQL Server, Access; excellent problem-solving skills and customer service skills are also required.
